Back
in the late 50's, my Grandpa and Grandma (William "Red"
& Ozella Wilson) started their first partnership with
Angelo Ponticello on Goodfellow Blvd. Eventually Red and
Ozella went on to open their own restaurant named Ozella's.
Located in North County on Hwy. 367 across from the North-twin
drive-in. Ozella's was an instant success! Many romances
and memories started here, as this was the place to be in
North County. Ozella's continued to be "the place for
the best pizza in town" until it closed in 1974.
In 1977 my father and
mother (Ron and Judy Wilson) opened Ron Wilson's LTD Ozella's
located at Hwy 367 and Parker Rd. and another italian sub
store called "Noodles" where wonderful italian
dishes were served and frozen Ozella's pizza were sold.
This became a family affair where all of the family helped
out and so many of our friends worked at the restaurants
until they closed in 1981.
Those days may be long
gone, but the Famous Ozella's Pizza is back! In 2006 my
wife and I started making the pizza's for family and friends,
they loved them so much we could hardly keep up! We decided
to open the 3rd Ozella's in 2007 and bring back all of the
wonderful recipes used by my Grandpa and Grandma.
We hope that you enjoy!
